21 Awesome Ways To Drive More Traffic To Your Website

21 Awesome Ways To Drive More Traffic To Your Website

Last updated on December 31st, 2025 at 11:41 am

There are a lot of ways to drive traffic to your website. In fact, there are so many that it can be difficult to know where to start.

But we’re here to help!

In this article, we’ll discuss some of the best methods for driving traffic to your website. We’ll talk about how to optimize your website for search engines, use social media effectively, build sales funnels, use a strategy we call “The Dream 100”, and lots more.

By using a variety of methods, you can increase the traffic to your website and boost your business!

1. The Dream 100

The Dream 100 is a strategy that we use to drive traffic to our website. It’s a simple concept, but it can be very effective.

Check out the video below…

Here’s how it works.

First, you look for 100 (hence, The Dream 100) places where your dream customers already congregate online. Make a list. You’ll find Facebook groups, YouTube Channels, forums, blogs, podcasts, and more.

The goal is to find the top places that your dream customers frequent online.

And don’t shy away from the big congregations that might get millions of visitors (hence, the Dream 100).

The Dream 100

Once you’ve made your list, you’ve got two options: you can work your way in or buy your way in…

Work Your Way In — This usually means cold calling, text messaging, emailing, and even direct mailing your influencers to try and build a relationship with them and “bribe” them into some sort of collaboration. For example, you might send a free version of your product to influencers and ask them for an honest review.

Buy Your Way In — If you want to cut to the chase, then you might consider just paying influencers to get in front of their audience. This might include getting a banner ad on their website, putting your YouTube ads at the beginning of their videos, or contacting them and asking what other paid promotional opportunities they offer.

Here’s the basic process for buying your way in with an influencer…

Days 1-14 — Follow all of your influencers on social media and pay attention to what they’re doing. Dedicate your daily social media time to consuming their content and engaging with their posts.

Days 15-30 — Reach out to your influencers and open up a dialogue. Do not pitch them. Just try to start a conversation. Compliment them and tell them how much you appreciate their content. Keep engaging with their content via shares, likes, comments, etc.

Days 31-60 — Rather than pitching the influencer, give them something for free. Offer them free lifetime access to your service, or a free bag of products, or something else. Only ask for their feedback in return. Your goal is to turn them into a fan of your brand.

Create a spreadsheet and track your engagement with these key people.

The more seriously you take this process, the more results you’re going to get.

2. Search Engine Optimization

One of the best ways to drive traffic to your website is through search engine optimization (SEO). By optimizing your website for search engines, you can improve your ranking in the search results and attract more visitors.

Here, for example, is a screenshot of the progress one of my clients has made over the last year by producing more blog content…

Search Engine Optimization

There are a number of things you can do to optimize your website for search engines. Here’s an overview of the basics…

1. Keyword Research

One of the most important aspects of SEO is keyword research. You need to identify the keywords that your target audience is searching for and include them on your website.

2. Optimize Your Website Content

Another important aspect of SEO is optimizing your website content. You need to make sure that all of your website content is relevant to your target audience and includes the keywords they are searching for.

3. Optimize Your Title Tags and Meta Descriptions

Another way to optimize your website for search engines is by optimizing your title tags and meta descriptions. These are the titles and descriptions that appear in the search results, and by optimizing them, you can improve your ranking and attract more visitors.

4. Add a Blog to Your Website

Adding a blog to your website is another effective way to improve your SEO. More content means more opportunities to rank for various keywords in Google.

5. Optimize Your Website for Local Search

If you want to attract local visitors to your website, then you need to optimize your website for local search. This includes adding your business name, address, and phone number to your website and including local keywords in your content. Also consider getting yourself a Google Business account.

3. Social Media Marketing

Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing is another effective way to drive traffic to your website. By promoting your website on social media, you can improve your ranking in the search results and attract more visitors.

However, you can’t just copy and paste your website link every day and hope for people to click it.

You’ve got to woo people with fun, interesting, or compelling content.

If you’re not sure what kind of content to post, take a look at the content that’s performing well on other social media accounts within your niche.

Follow those people to get inspiration.

Also, keep in mind Jonah Berger’s rules for creating viral content:

1. Use Social Currency

Make your content shareable by using social currency. This means making your content valuable, timely, or exciting.

2. Use Triggers

Use triggers to remind people of your content. Triggers can be things like holidays, special events, or anniversaries.

3. Use Emotion

Use emotional content to make people want to share your content. Emotional content can be things like inspirational stories or funny videos.

4. Make it Public

Make your content public so people can see it and share it. This means putting your content on social media and in other public places.

5. Create Practical Content

Make your content useful so people will want to share it. This means creating content that is helpful, informative, or entertaining.

6. Use Stories

People love stories, so make sure your content tells a story. This will make people want to share it with others.

Once you’ve got some great content, make sure to post it at the best times for maximum engagement.

4. Paid Ads

There are a number of different paid advertising platforms you can use to drive traffic to your website for as little as $500 per month, such as Google AdWords, Facebook Ads, and Twitter Ads.

Paid Ads

Each platform has its own strengths and weaknesses.

For instance, Google AdWords is great for targeting people who are already searching for your product or service (specifically, people who are already in buying mode). And Facebook Ads are great for targeting people based on their interests, demographics, and behavior.

Whatever platform you decide to use, targeting is where the magic happens.

You can use targeting to laser-focus your ads so they’re only seen by the people most likely to buy from you.

So it’s critical that you understand who your dream customers are and then translate that information into relevant targeting specifications for your ads.

5. Sponsorships

Sponsorships are a great way to get your brand in front of a new audience. And they don’t have to be expensive.

There are many small- to medium-sized podcasts and newsletters that would love your support.

Sponsorships

In exchange for a sponsorship fee, they’ll promote your brand to their audience.

(This is another great way to infiltrate your Dream 100)

How do you find these places?

The easiest way is to go to Google and search things like “best [niche] podcasts/blogs/newsletters”.

You’ll find tons of opportunities that way.

Reach out to those people, ask for their advertising rates, and see if you can make something work.

6. Influencer Marketing

Influencer marketing is a type of marketing that focuses on using key leaders to drive your brand’s message to the larger market.

Rather than marketing directly to a large group of people, you instead hire influencers to get out the word for you.

Influencer Marketing

The most important part of influencer marketing is finding the right influencer. You want to find someone who already has a following of people who are interested in your niche.

For example, if you’re selling skincare products, you would want to find an influencer who already has a following of people interested in beauty and skincare.

The best way to find these influencers is to use a tool like BuzzSumo. Just enter a topic or keyword into the search bar and BuzzSumo will show you the most popular influencers in that space.

Once you’ve found some potential influencers, reach out to them and ask if they’re interested in working with you — and how much they’d charge to do so.

7. Email Marketing

Email marketing is one of the most effective ways to drive traffic to your website on demand.

Think of it this way.

There is traffic that you…

Control: This is things like advertisements. You have some control of the traffic… but at the end of the day, it’s still not yours.

Don’t Control: Then there’s random traffic you don’t control. It comes and goes as it pleases.

Own: Finally, there’s traffic that you own. These are the people on your email list. The more subscribers you have, the easier it is to generate your own traffic on demand.

The goal is to turn all other types of traffic into traffic that you own (people on your email list) so you don’t have to pay to keep reaching them.

Email Marketing

You can do that by putting lead magnets on your website and making sure to get the email address of people who click on your ads as the first step in your funnel.

A lead magnet is just a piece of content that you give away for free in exchange for an email address.

It could be an ebook, a cheat sheet, a checklist, or anything else that would be valuable to your dream customers.

8. Participate in Online Forums

Online forums are a great way to get in front of a new audience and show them that you’re an expert in your field.

The best part is, it doesn’t have to be a lot of work. You can simply answer people’s questions when they pop up — even with just 15-20 minutes per day of work.

To find relevant forums, just do a Google search for your niche + “forum”.

For example, if you’re in the health and fitness niche, you could do a search for “fitness forum”.

You’ll then want to create a profile on each of these forums and make sure to include a link back to your website in your profile.

Once you’ve done that, start participating in the conversations that are already taking place. As you answer questions and become a respected expert on the platform, you’ll start generating a bit of free traffic to your website.

9. Host a Webinar

This is one of our favorite ways to generate leads and make sales.

A webinar is basically an online seminar where you teach your audience about a specific topic (for free) — something that they’re very interested in learning about.

Here’s an example of an old webinar that Russell Brunson did…

Host a Webinar

You can use a webinar to sell products, build email lists, or even just generate brand awareness.

The best part is that once you create a webinar, it’s something you can continue to promote.

But… how do you do it?

Here are the basic steps.

  1. Pick a date and time for your webinar.
  2. Create a landing page to promote your webinar (you can use ClickFunnels to make this process easier).
  3. Send traffic to your landing page using ads, email marketing, or social media.
  4. On the day of the webinar, send an email to everyone who registered and encourage them to actually attend!
  5. Start the webinar at the scheduled time.
  6. Give great value during the webinar.
  7. Pitch your product or service at the end of the webinar.

Of course, it’s a bit more complicated than that.

How do you write a great script for your webinar? How do you transition from providing value to promoting your products or services?

If you want to create a killer webinar from scratch, then get our Perfect Webinar Secrets for just $7 (normally $97).

10. Contests & Giveaways

People love free stuff!

They also love competitions.

That’s why running a contest or giveaway can be an effective way to generate traffic to your website.

Contests & Giveaways

The best part is that it doesn’t have to be complicated. You can give away something small, like an ebook or a course, in exchange for an email address. In fact, the more relevant your giveaway item is to your products or services, the better — that way, you’re only generating high-quality leads.

To get started, just create a landing page using ClickFunnels and then promote your contest or giveaway on social media, email, or wherever else you can think of.

When done correctly, contests and giveaways are one of the fastest ways to grow an email list — which will eventually lead to more traffic (and sales) for your business.

I know of multiple marketers who have generated 20,000+ high-quality subscribers with just a single giveaway or contest.

With those kinds of results…

It’s at least worth a shot!

11. Start a YouTube Channel

2 billion people use YouTube every single month.

That’s a lot of potential traffic!

And while it might seem like starting a YouTube channel is a lot of work, it’s actually not that difficult… especially if you already have a website or blog up and running.

The key is to create videos that are closely related to the content that you’re already creating.

For example, if you have a blog about fitness, you could start creating videos about different exercises or healthy recipes.

If you sell physical products, you could create “unboxing” videos or demonstration videos.

The possibilities are endless!

And the best part is that YouTube is a great platform for building an audience and generating leads (which you can then funnel to your website).

To get started, just create a YouTube channel and start creating videos about topics that are closely related to your business.

Once you have a few videos up, start promoting them on social media, email, and anywhere else you can think of.

You’ll be surprised how quickly your channel can grow… and how much traffic it can generate for your website.

12. Hyperlink Your Email Signature

You’re not going to drive a ton of traffic with this strategy — but every little bit counts, right?

A bit of low-hanging fruit is including a link to your lead magnet in your email signature so that every time you send an email… there’s an opportunity for someone to become a lead.

Hyperlink Your Email Signature

And if you’re like me, you send quite a few emails.

It’s not huge.

But it adds up.

And it’s so easy to do that it’s silly not to try.

13. Guest Blogging

Guest blogging is when you write an article for someone else’s website or blog.

Why would you do that?

It’s a great way to generate traffic because you’re tapping into their existing audience.

And if you do it right, you can also build relationships with other bloggers in your industry — which can lead to more opportunities down the road.

To get started with guest blogging, just reach out to other bloggers in your industry and see if they’re open to publishing guest articles.

If so, then pitch them a few ideas for articles that you think their audience would enjoy.

And if you need help coming up with ideas, look at the articles that are currently getting a lot of attention in your niche.

Chances are, you can create something similar and get it published.

14. Get on Podcasts

Podcasts are becoming more and more popular — which means they’re a great way to reach a new audience.

And while it might seem daunting to be a guest on someone else’s podcast, it’s actually not that difficult… especially if you’re prepared.

Do your research ahead of time and come up with a few talking points that you think would be interesting for their audience.

And then show up and have a conversation!

It’s really that simple.

To get started, just compile a list of podcasts that you think would be a good fit for your business.

Then reach out to the hosts and see if they’re open to having you on as a guest.

If so, then book a time and show up prepared to chat.

Here’s an email pitching template you can use…

  • Hello!
  • My name is [name] I am [build rapport].
  • And I would LOVE to be a guest on your podcast (if you’ll have me).
  • For topic ideas, I was thinking one of the following might really resonate with your audience.
  • Idea #1: …
  • Idea #2: …
  • Idea #3: …
  • Let me know if this would be of interest to you or if you have any questions for me. I’d love to tell you more about myself, but don’t want to overload this email before I hear back. 🙂
  • Best!

15. Cross-Promote With Other Businesses

Cross-promotion is when two businesses promote each other’s products or services to their respective audiences.

It’s a great way to reach a new audience without spending any money because you’re effectively tapping into someone else’s marketing efforts.

And it’s a win-win for both businesses.

It can be done in a number of ways.

For example, you could do a joint webinar with another business in your industry.

Or you could write a blog post featuring another business’s product or service.

You could even team up to offer a discount to customers of both businesses.

There are endless possibilities when it comes to cross-promotion — so get creative and see what you can come up with.

To get started, just reach out to a few businesses in your industry that you think would be a good fit and see if they’re open to the idea.

If so, then put together a proposal for how you could work together to promote each other’s businesses.

16. Speak at Events

If you want to reach a new audience, then speaking at events is a great way to do it.

When you speak at an event, you’re essentially getting in front of a group of people who are interested in what you have to say.

And if you do a good job, then you’ll not only win over the audience — but you’ll also get their attention and interest in your business.

How do you get started?

It’s actually not that difficult… especially if you start small.

There are always events and meetups happening in every city — so start by reaching out to the organizers of small- to medium-sized events and seeing if they’re open to having you speak.

If so, then put together a talk that you think would be interesting and helpful for their audience.

And then show up and deliver an awesome presentation.

17. Sponsor an Event

Don’t want to speak at an event but still want to generate traffic and word-of-mouth?

Sponsoring an event is another great way to reach a new audience.

When you sponsor an event, your business’s name and branding will be featured prominently — which means people will become more familiar with your business just by attending the event.

What’s more, sponsoring an event also gives you the opportunity to meet and connect with potential customers in person.

Just reach out to the organizers of local events and see if they’re looking for sponsors.

If so, then put together a sponsorship proposal outlining what you can offer and how it would benefit the event.

18. Advertise on LinkedIn

Earlier we talked about advertising on platforms like Facebook and Google.

But we didn’t talk about LinkedIn.

LinkedIn is a powerful platform for B2B businesses — and that’s because it has such a high concentration of business professionals.

Advertise on LinkedIn

According to HubSpot, LinkedIn has nearly 600 million members… including over 106 million senior-level influencers and 63 million decision-makers.

So if you’re looking to reach a business audience, then LinkedIn should definitely be on your radar.

To get started with LinkedIn advertising, simply create an account and then set up your first campaign.

You can choose to target your audience in a number of ways… including by location, job title, or company size.

Then set your budget and start bidding on ad placements.

19. Allow People to Guest Post on Your Site

Want to reap the benefits of an active blog but don’t want to write tons of your own content?

Well, it turns out that there’s a huge audience of people who would be happy to write content for your site… for free.

All they want in return, typically, is a backlink to their site.

Guest posting is a great way to get high-quality content for your site without having to do all the work yourself.

It’s also a great way to build relationships with other bloggers and thought leaders in your industry.

To get started, just reach out to a few people whose work you admire and see if they’d be interested in writing a guest post for your site.

If they are, then give them some guidelines on what you’re looking for and let them go to town.

20. Repurpose Your Content

If you’re struggling to come up with new ideas for blog posts or other types of content, then repurposing your existing content is a great solution.

With repurposing, you take an existing piece of content — like a blog post — and turn it into something else.

For example, you could take a blog post and turn it into:

  • An infographic
  • A podcast episode
  • A video
  • A SlideShare presentation
  • An eBook

The possibilities are endless.

And the best part is that you don’t have to start from scratch.

You can simply take what you’ve already created and repurpose it into something new.

21. Use Social Share Buttons

Social media is a powerful traffic driver — but only if you’re actively encouraging people to share your content.

The good news is that this is easy to do with social share buttons.

Use Social Share Buttons

Social share buttons are clickable icons that make it easy for people to share your content on their favorite social media platforms.

And they can be added to pretty much any type of content, including blog posts, infographics, and even videos.

If you’re not already using social share buttons, then now is the time to start.

Just choose a few of the most popular social media platforms and add social share buttons for those platforms to your site.
