3 Lead Generation Solutions That You Should Be Aware Of

3 Lead Generation Solutions That You Should Be Aware Of

Lead generation is important.

But obviously, generating leads for your business isn’t as simple as creating great products, climbing the nearest mountain, and shouting at the top of your lungs.

You’ve got to woo people — specifically, your target market.

First, you win their trust. Then, maybe you make them a low-level offer. If all goes well, you can shoot for the moon.

But how do you scale that process?

What lead-gen solutions will work best for your business?

That’s what we’re talking about in this guide!

What is a Lead Generation Solution?

A lead generation solution is a scalable system or process for generating high-quality leads for a business — it sometimes includes cold outreach or paid advertising.

In this article, we’re going to share 7 lead generation solutions that we’ve seen work for our own business and for our member’s businesses.

These are proven to work.

All you’ve got to do is implement them.

But before we get to that… a quick word of caution about most lead generation solutions…

The Problem With Most Lead Generation Solutions

When a new marketer or entrepreneur thinks about ways to generate leads for their business, the first ideas that come to mind are often things like…

  • Cold Emailing
  • Cold Calling
  • Asking For Referrals

… and so forth — things that require a lot of work.

Take cold emailing or cold calling, for instance.

You might get some results. But those results are going to be few and far between… Ultimately, you’re going to spend a lot of time for very few leads.

Just check out the painful graph below…

The Problem With Most Lead Generation Solutions, 1 appointment or referral for every 209 calls.

The same thing is true about asking for referrals — it will work for a little while, but eventually, you’ll run out of people to ask… and plus, do you really want to be asking all these people to refer you to their friends? It’s easy to sound a little bit desperate.

But what do you do instead?

This: build a lead-gen system that’s scalable and consistently gets results — something that doesn’t require a ton of time to keep going and something that won’t stop working if you take a week-long vacation.

Where do you start?

With a sales funnel.

Start With a Sales Funnel

What’s a sales funnel?

Well, it’s pretty simple.

Don’t think of a sales funnel as a long and arduous journey toward getting someone from your target market to give you their phone number and/or email address… think of it as a series of web pages, think of it as an “offer”.

That’s what a lead-gen sales funnel is.

It’s a series of pages that are crafted to systematically convert visitors into leads — it does this by offering something compelling (usually free) to the target market.

Take a look, for instance, at the Webinar Funnel template we’ve designed…

Start With a Sales Funnel, webinar funnel diagram.

There’s a registration page (this is where the person lands after they click and it’s also where they sign up for the webinar). Then there’s a confirmation page, some indoctrination pages over the next few days, and finally, the webinar itself!

(By the way, you can also create an Auto Webinar Funnel so you don’t have to go live for every presentation — it’s just a recording)

The Webinar Funnel is perfect for introducing people to you and your brand with free training… and then making sales at the end of that training.

Or maybe a simple Squeeze Page Funnel is more your style — where you offer a free gift to your subscriber in return for their email address. This is straightforward and doesn’t require much time investment on your part (beyond creating the resource in the first place).

Another option would be the Application Funnel. This funnel is perfect for pre-qualifying leads — you can ask them some questions on the front-end after you get their email address…

Which type of funnel do you want to try?

Don’t overthink it. Choose the one that you think will work the best and create a compelling offer for your target market, then plug the pertinent info into each page using our simple funnel builder.

Scaleable Lead Generation Solutions

At this point, I’m going to assume that you’ve built a sales funnel.

You’ve chosen a type of sales funnel (from up above), you’ve crafted a compelling offer, and you’ve designed the entire thing using our software.

(If you feel lost, learn more about how to build a lead-gen sales funnel over here)

Now what?

Well, the next step is simple — we need to drive as much traffic to your lead-gen sales funnel as possible!

Here’s how we’re going to do that… in a way that’s scalable.

1. Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization refers to the process of optimizing your website and all its pages to rank in Google for high-value keyword phrases.

It takes a bit of time to start working.

But once it does, it feels like magic.

Let’s look at an example.

I’ve been working with REISift, a SaaS company in the real estate investing niche, since the beginning of this year (2021). When we started, they literally had zero traffic through Google.

So all we did was start writing blog content to target keyword phrases that their target market types into Google.

This article, for example, is targeting “real estate wholesaling software” — which gets 100 searches every month.

Search Engine Optimization example.

And guess what?

It’s ranking #1 for that phrase!

Search Engine Optimization, SERP example.

Which means that it’s driving traffic passively every single month to REISift’s website, it’s building brand awareness, and it’s gently guiding those people toward REISift’s sales funnel.

In fact, that article is ranking for a ton of other relevant keywords and it’s driving a total of 309 visits every month…

(Notice that many of the other top pages are also blog posts targeting specific keywords)

All in all, REISift is now driving 1,600 visits per month…

Naturally, this has resulted in a lot of extra leads and memberships for REISift.

And we’ve only published about one blog post per month this year.

That’s the power of SEO.

Be consistent and publish content that’s better than what’s currently on page 1 of Google — here’s a guide to getting started on SEO and here’s a list of some of the best SEO content writers for hire right now (in case you don’t want to do all the writing yourself).

2. Paid Advertising

Where SEO is a great long-term strategy for driving traffic to your website and sales funnel… paid advertising is a much more direct route.

You run a Facebook ad, people click on it, and they go straight to your sales funnel where they can opt-in and become a lead.

Here are some of the best advertising platforms for beginners…

  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Twitter
  • Pinterest
  • TikTok
  • Instagram
  • Reddit

The main question you want to ask here is: which platform does your target market prefer?

You want to advertise where your target market already congregates.

(The same is true when you’re setting up your ad targeting)

As an example of what this looks like, here’s an ad we’re currently running that points people toward our two-week free trial (our primary lead magnet here at ClickFunnels)…

If someone clicks, they’ll go to the first page of our sales funnel…

Paid Advertising, ClickFunnels sponsored ad clickthrough example.

And if you can achieve, say, $0.50 per click along with a 25% conversion rate on your sales funnel (pretty reasonable numbers for a lead-gen campaign), you could spend $500 to get 250 high-quality leads.

Not bad, eh?

3. Affiliate Marketing

What if you had an “army” of influencers in your niche who promoted your products for you?

Better yet, what if you only had to pay those influencers after they made a sale — say, 20% commission?

Sounds great, right?

That’s how affiliate marketing works.

Finding these influencers is simply a matter of doing your research and looking for influencers that your dream customers already follow.

Create a spreadsheet.

Once you’ve made a list, follow Russell Brunson’s outreach strategy for building organic relationships with those influencers over 60 days…

  • Days 1-14 — Follow all of your influencers on social media and pay attention to what they’re doing. Dedicate your daily social media time to consuming their content and engaging with their posts.
  • Days 15-30 — Reach out to your influencers and open up a dialogue. Do not pitch them. Just try to start a conversation. Compliment them and tell them how much you appreciate their content. Keep engaging with their content via shares, likes, comments, etc.
  • Days 31-60 —  Rather than pitching the influencer, give them something for free. Offer them free lifetime access to your service, or a free bag of products, or something else. Only ask for their feedback in return. Your goal is to turn them into a fan of your brand.

Once the influencer expresses genuine interest in your product, ask them if they’d like to become an affiliate.

Eventually, you’ll have an army of affiliates who promote your products for you!

How do you track sales and manage commissions for your affiliates?

You can do all of that inside of your ClickFunnels account using our backpack feature!
