Dear ClickFunnels Classic users,
I’m Todd Dickerson – co-founder and CEO of ClickFunnels – and I want to personally reassure you about the future of ClickFunnels Classic. As many of you know, we’ve recently launched ClickFunnels 2.0, and I’ve received questions from some of you asking what it means for the Classic platform you’ve been using to run your business. Let me put those worries to rest right away: ClickFunnels Classic is here to stay. It’s a secure, stable, and long-term supported platform, and we are not shutting it down. In fact, we built ClickFunnels 2.0 in a way that preserves 100% of Classic’s stability and reliability for you. Classic is the longest-running and most battle-tested funnel builder on the internet, and we’re committed to keeping it that way for all our loyal users.
I know you might have a few specific questions about this, so I’ve answered some of the most common ones below. I hope this FAQ-style letter gives you clarity and peace of mind about our commitment to ClickFunnels Classic.
Q: Will ClickFunnels Classic be shut down now that 2.0 is here?
A: Absolutely not. ClickFunnels Classic is not going away. This platform has been the backbone of tens of thousands of successful funnels over the years. It’s a rock-solid, battle-tested system that many businesses (maybe yours included) rely on every single day. We deeply appreciate the trust you’ve placed in Classic, and we’re dedicated to supporting it for the long haul. In short, you can continue running your funnels on Classic without any worry of the rug being pulled out from under you – no surprise shutdowns, no forced migrations.
Q: Is ClickFunnels Classic still supported and getting updates?
A: Yes, ClickFunnels Classic is very much supported and will continue to be. We have a team devoted to keeping Classic secure, stable, and up-to-date. While we may not add brand-new flashy features to Classic (since our big new features are focused on 2.0), we are constantly maintaining and improving Classic behind the scenes. This means you’ll continue to receive all necessary security updates, bug fixes, and integration upkeep on Classic. If a third-party integration changes or a security patch is needed, we’ll handle it. Our goal is to ensure that Classic runs smoothly for you now and for years to come. You can count on the fact that if you encounter an issue on Classic, our support team and engineers are here to help just as they always have been.
Q: Why did you create ClickFunnels 2.0? Does it replace Classic?
A: We created ClickFunnels 2.0 to build on everything we’ve learned from Classic without replacing or destabilizing Classic. In fact, one of the main reasons we built 2.0 as a separate platform was to avoid forcing major changes on Classic. We know thousands of businesses run on Classic, and we didn’t want to risk your funnels or make you re-learn everything by overhauling the original platform. By developing a brand-new system for 2.0, we were able to introduce modern features and improvements while keeping Classic exactly as dependable as it’s always been. So think of 2.0 not as a replacement, but as an alternative option for those who want the latest and greatest. ClickFunnels Classic remains a core product for us – it’s stable and unchanged, so your business doesn’t skip a beat. Meanwhile, 2.0 is there for you if and when you want to take advantage of new capabilities. In short, 2.0 exists alongside Classic, and Classic stays just as reliable as ever.
Q: Do I have to switch to ClickFunnels 2.0?
A: No, you do not have to switch if you don’t want to. There is no forced migration from Classic to 2.0. You can continue using ClickFunnels Classic just as you always have for as long as it serves your business. We have many users who plan to stick with Classic, and that’s completely okay! Classic will continue to run your funnels with no major changes that could risk your business. We’re going to keep supporting it and keeping it stable. The decision to move to 2.0 (or not) is entirely in your hands and should be based on what’s best for your business. If Classic is working great for you, you can confidently keep on using it without worrying that you’re on a “dead” platform – because you’re not! Classic is alive, well, and cared for.
Q: What if I want the new features in ClickFunnels 2.0? Can I use 2.0 while keeping my Classic funnels?
A: Absolutely. If you’re interested in the new bells and whistles of ClickFunnels 2.0, you can have the best of both worlds. Many of our Classic users choose to purchase a ClickFunnels 2.0 account to explore its new capabilities while still running Classic for their existing funnels. There’s no conflict in using both platforms side by side – in fact, we’ve made it easy to do so.
ClickFunnels 2.0 is our modern, all-in-one platform that comes with 20+ integrated apps to supercharge your business. For example, 2.0 has a built-in CRM to manage your contacts and sales pipeline, advanced workflow automations to streamline your marketing, a real-time chat and MessageHub to centralize customer conversations, and so much more (email marketing, an online store builder, membership areas, etc. are all included). If those kinds of features are on your wish list, 2.0 might be a great addition for you. You can sign up for 2.0 and start using those new tools, all while your Classic account continues to operate as normal.
When you’re using both, your ClickFunnels Classic account remains fully functional – you can build and run funnels there just like always. And whenever you’re ready, we offer an option to link your Classic account with 2.0 for easier management. In fact, once you’ve migrated whatever funnels or data you want into 2.0, you have the choice to put your Classic account into “Maintenance Mode.” Maintenance Mode is a special setting for Classic accounts that are linked to a 2.0 account. In Maintenance Mode, all your existing Classic funnels stay live, active, and profitable – nothing breaks or goes down – but your Classic account will be essentially locked from creating new funnels or pages. You’d do any new funnel building in 2.0 going forward. This allows you to keep your old funnels running on Classic indefinitely without having to pay for two fully active subscriptions at once if you don’t need to. (To be clear, Maintenance Mode is optional – it’s just there to help if you’ve moved to 2.0 and don’t plan to build new funnels in Classic but still want your old funnels running.)
Many users find this dual setup very reassuring: you can try out 2.0’s new features at your own pace while your income-generating funnels on Classic remain untouched. Whether you choose to gradually migrate or keep running both platforms long-term, the choice is yours. Our job is to support you whichever path you take.
In closing, I want to emphasize once again that your success is our success. We understand that you’ve built your business on ClickFunnels Classic, and we are fully committed to honoring that by keeping Classic stable, secure, and supported for the long term. If you love Classic, stick with it! If you want to take advantage of ClickFunnels 2.0, you can do that too, on your own timeline and terms, without worrying about losing what you built on Classic.
Thank you for being a part of the ClickFunnels family. We deeply appreciate your trust and loyalty. Whether you’re using Classic, 2.0, or both, we’re here to help you thrive. If you have any more questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team – we’re always here to support you.
Sincerely,
Todd Dickerson
