The Backstory of Etison LLC — How it Came to Be
A long time ago, after tinkering with hundreds of different online marketing methods, Russell Brunson discovered something very powerful: sales funnels. These were structured online experiences that guided visitors systematically and automatically toward conversion.
And they worked really well.
So he started building these sales funnels for companies to help them grow their businesses — the problem was, with all the tech work involved, it was taking 4-6 weeks to build just one sales funnel.
That’s when ClickFunnels was created.
ClickFunnels was born in 2014 when the frustration and time required to build a successful funnel just became too much to handle. Russell Brunson and Todd Dickerson got together for a week and mapped out their dream software, asking questions like, “Well what if it could do this?” If a question made sense, they would write it down and make it actionable, and sometimes, Todd would shut an idea down if it was just too far fetched. After the week ended, they went their separate ways and got to work. Todd built ClickFunnels in the months to follow.
Originally, Russell and Todd used ClickFunnels software to build sales funnels for their clients… Only later did they realize that the real potential of ClickFunnels was to put it directly in the hands of entrepreneurs around the globe.

The Founders of Etison LLC: Russell Brunson & Todd Dickerson
Russell Brunson and Todd Dickerson are the creators and founder of ClickFunnels. They still have a large part in the marketing, growth, and direction of the company today.
Over the past 19 years, Russell Brunson has built a following of over a million entrepreneurs, sold hundreds of thousands of copies of his books (making him a New York Times Bestselling Author), popularized the concept of sales funnels, and co-founded the software company called ClickFunnels that helps tens of thousands of entrepreneurs quickly get their message out to the marketplace.
Todd Dickerson studied computer science at the University of Georgia in 2002, where he started his first digital company. One year later, he transferred to Kennesaw State University to learn about software engineering, information systems, and marketing, all of which would prove to be invaluable skills in the creation of ClickFunnels two years later. In his current role as Chief Product Officer, Todd oversees the development of ClickFunnels software.
The CEO of Etison LLC: Dave Woodward
Dave Woodward was hired as the CEO of ClickFunnels in 2015. He has experience growing businesses in multiple industries and is well-versed in the nuances of online marketing.
Dave holds degrees from BYU and has served in senior leadership roles across multiple industries prior to joining ClickFunnels in 2015, including serving as Americo's Regional Director in Houston, TX where he oversaw Americo's expansion into 12 states and the company's sale. Dave was the President & owner of Monopolize Inc. for 17 years where he helped grow insurance, investment, mortgage, and real estate businesses through internet marketing and growth expansion.

…What does is mean to them, how did they come up with it, how/why did they choose that name??
