Working Double Shifts at Bubba Gump in Her Late 40s
Angelica Govaert was working double shifts at Bubba Gump Shrimp on a boardwalk in Texas. She was in her late 40s, exhausted, and completely out of money after selling her yoga studio.
But years earlier, she’d been sitting in the nosebleed seats at a business conference, watching Russell Brunson build a funnel live on stage and drive traffic to it. She watched him get sales right there in front of everyone, and she thought “this is it, this is my thing.”
So sitting in that Bubba Gump uniform, she made a decision. She was going to take what she knew about yoga, put it online, and build it all in ClickFunnels just like Russell showed her.
Three years later, she made over $150,000 without spending a dollar on paid ads.
Her First Year Made $24K

Most people only talk about the wins. The big launches, the viral posts, the six-figure years. Nobody talks about year one when you’re working through imposter syndrome and posting to basically no one.
But even as a beginner, Angelica made $24,000 her first year online. She was posting two to three times a day, filming yoga videos on the dock at her marina, and renting other people’s studios when she needed a proper space. She was doing everything she’d eventually teach other people to do, but without knowing if any of it would work.
And she was dealing with all the things that stop most people before they even start. She was older than the bendy Instagram yoga influencers and not as flexible, she didn’t look like them, and the fear of being judged was constant. Most people would call her a “normal person doing yoga.”
But that became her advantage. Women who would never step foot in a yoga studio started taking her courses because she looked like them. Someone in Nebraska who didn’t have access to quality yoga training could learn from her online. Women in domestic violence situations took her courses and felt empowered enough to change their lives.
The impact she had in person at her studio was nothing compared to what happened when she went online, but it took a full year of posting, creating content, and pushing through the voice in her head that said she wasn’t good enough.
Most people quit before they get here. They do a few months, post 10 or 15 times, don’t see results, and decide it doesn’t work. Angelica kept going because she knew $24,000 meant it was working, just slowly.
How She Hit Six Figures Posting Organically

In year two, Angelica made $79,000. Year three, she made $151,000. All organic, no paid ads, just posting consistently and analyzing what worked.
She posted two to three times a day on TikTok and Instagram, weekly on her podcast, and weekly on YouTube. And she had a spreadsheet where she logged every single video.
This was before AI made everything easier, so she had to think through it all herself. She’d watch content on TikTok and Instagram, and when something made her stop scrolling, she’d analyze it. What was that hook? Why did I stop? If she watched a whole video, she’d break down the structure and figure out why it worked.
Then she’d take those frameworks and apply them to the yoga industry. Most people copy what other people in their industry are doing, but Angelica looked at everyone outside yoga. What’s Tony Robbins doing? What’s Russell Brunson doing? What are everyday people creating that makes you want to keep watching?
By doing this consistently, she realized it’s the framework that works, not necessarily the topic. Once you understand what makes people stop, watch, and engage, you can apply it to anything.
What She Tracked and Why it Mattered
Angelica’s spreadsheet wasn’t just for logging posts. She was analyzing which hooks worked, which ones didn’t, how many views each video got, how many comments, how many shares. She wasn’t being emotional about it either, which is where most yoga teachers get stuck.
They post something and it gets 200 views and they think nobody cares. But Angelica would ask them to think about it differently. How many people came to your yoga class last night? Three? Ten? Maybe 20 at the most? A great class has 25 people, and 200 people just saw your video. That’s eight times more people than your best yoga class.
Now imagine you stay consistent and you figure out what hooks work. You post two to three times a day because your competitor is. You move up in the algorithm because you have a breakout video, and now you’re getting 500 to 600 views, then 10,000 views.
She went to a Christopher Cross concert once and counted the rows. About 5,000 people in the audience. And it hit her that on any given day, more than 5,000 people see her content across all her videos on YouTube, Instagram reels, and TikTok. More people watch her videos every day than came to see a man who’s been famous for decades.
That’s the power of being online, but you have to put in the work to get there.
The Three Questions Unsuccessful People Ask
Angelica coaches yoga teachers now, teaching them how to build their online businesses. She works with them on everything from organic marketing to paid ads, helping them create their offers and drive traffic through ClickFunnels.
And she hears the same questions over and over from people who haven’t found success yet. Here are the top three.
“Do I really have to post this much?”
Yes. Your competitor is posting three times a day, and if you’re not willing to match that, someone else will. And they’ll get the clients you wanted.
“I don’t look good enough.”
This one drives Angelica crazy because she’s heard it a thousand times. You already know you’re a good yoga teacher, you know you’re good at what you do. But what you’re calling imposter syndrome is really just perfectionism.
People don’t want perfect. They want real. Angelica’s videos weren’t polished or professionally shot in the beginning. They were just her, teaching yoga, being herself. And people connected with that more than they ever connected with the Instagram influencers doing handstands on a cliff.
“There’s already so many people doing this.”
Nobody’s you. Nobody brings your version of yoga, your teaching style, your voice. You think ClickFunnels is the only software company out there? Of course not, but it’s the best for a lot of people, and there’s room for everyone to compete.
You’re not trying to get a million clients. You’re trying to get a couple thousand. And if you think there aren’t a thousand people out there who want what you have, that’s the problem you need to fix first.
Why Going Viral Isn’t the Goal
Angelica’s coach, Lissa from Raw Food Romance, told her something that stuck. Going viral is like getting a free Tesla with a turd in the back seat. Sure, you get this free car and it’s amazing, but there’s all these people commenting terrible things and you’re dealing with a mess you didn’t ask for.
You don’t want to be viral. You want to resonate with your audience. You want a smaller group of people who know, like, and trust you because you share high-quality information with them, not what you had for dinner or the details of your personal life.
Angelica’s audience doesn’t even know she has a husband. They know her dog because he’s in her videos sometimes, but they don’t know much else because they’re not following her for her life. They’re following her for her knowledge.
That’s the shift that most people never make. They think social media is for socializing, but it’s not. You’re a content creator, not a content consumer. Everything you post should serve your audience, help them, teach them something they can use.
And once you figure out what works, do it over and over. Angelica ran webinars every Wednesday night and Thursday morning for an entire year until she got it right. She posted the same types of videos with the same hooks because that’s what her audience responded to. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel every time you post.
There’s Never a Perfect Time

People get on calls with Angelica and say “now is just not the right time.” Her response? It’s never going to be the right time.
You’re always going to have your kids’ events coming up. There’s always going to be not enough money. Somebody’s always going to be sick. You’re always going to have to work extra shifts or deal with stress or have something else on your plate.
When Angelica signed up with her coach, he told her to post three videos a day on TikTok. It was Thanksgiving weekend and she was moving, so she didn’t post. And he called her out on it.
He said “I see you said you were going to post three times a day on TikTok and you didn’t.” She said “well, we were moving and it was Thanksgiving weekend.” And he said “I don’t care.”
That hit her because that’s what it takes. When she worked for Loxitan running retail stores, it didn’t matter if it was the day after Christmas. She was in there at 6 AM doing markdowns. That’s the job, and when you own your own business, especially online, you have to be even more invested.
There’s a ton of noise online and everyone’s fighting for attention, but there’s not a ton of people who are consistent. There’s not a ton of people who last for years. It’s a game of staying in the game, and if you’re willing to show up when everyone else quits, you win.
How She Went From Bubba Gump to Russell Brunson’s Inner Circle
Three years after that double shift at Bubba Gump, Angelica is in Russell’s Inner Circle. She’s hit Two Comma Club, which means she’s made over a million dollars through her funnels. She’s about to get the ClickFunnels Dream Car, an award given to affiliates who’ve referred enough people to the platform. And she’s teaching other yoga teachers how to build their online businesses.
She went from watching Russell on a stage at that conference years ago to sitting in the podcast studio at ClickFunnels. And she did it without paid ads, without looking like an Instagram influencer, or waiting for the perfect time.
The strategy is simple but it requires showing up. Post consistently, track what works, do more of what works, and be yourself even when you don’t feel good enough. Stay in the game longer than everyone else because most people quit before they see results.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it. You don’t need to be perfect, you don’t need to look a certain way, you don’t need the perfect time. You just need to start.
