10 Ways To Create A Killer Landing Page For ClickBank Products

10 Ways To Create A Killer Landing Page For ClickBank Products

Last updated on August 13th, 2024 at 12:02 pm

Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money online.

This is especially true if you are a beginner because it allows you to learn digital marketing by selling someone else’s products.

Clickbank, the most popular affiliate marketing marketplace in the world, is probably the best place to start.

You can find proven affiliate products for pretty much any niche imaginable there.

Once you pick a promising product, you need to create a killer landing page for it. But how?

That’s exactly what we are going to discuss today…

What Affiliate Marketing Sales Funnel Works Best?

We believe that this most effective way to structure an affiliate marketing sales funnel:

  1. A lead generation landing page where you offer a digital freebie in exchange for the potential customer’s email address.
  2. A bridge page where you share how the ClickBank product in question helped you solve the problem that the potential customer is struggling with + list exclusive bonuses that the potential customer will get if they buy that product through your affiliate link.
  3. A sales page designed to sell the ClickBank product.

In this article, we will be focusing solely on creating a lead generation landing page that converts.

But you can learn more about bridge pages here:

The company that created the product will typically provide a sales page for it.

Okay, with all that out of the way, let’s get into our lead generation landing page tips:

#1. Create a Super Valuable Lead Magnet

A lead magnet is a freebie that you offer to potential customers in exchange for their email addresses.

It can be anything that they can either download to their device or access online:

  • A report
  • An ebook
  • A cheat sheet
  • A video course
  • An email course
  • A webinar

What’s important is that:

  1. Your lead magnet offers a solution to a problem that the potential customer is struggling with.
  2. That problem is either the same one or related to the one that the ClickBank product addresses.

Creating a lead magnet for an affiliate product is more challenging than creating a lead magnet for your own product. Why?

Because there needs to be consistency between the lead magnet and the product and that’s harder to achieve with someone else’s product.

You need to ensure that the presentation, tone, and quality of your lead magnet are at least somewhat similar to that of the affiliate product.

Otherwise, people might find the difference between your free offer and the affiliate product that you are selling too jarring.

#2. Choose an Appropriate Landing Page Format

There are three types of landing pages:

  • Short-form landing pages are also known as squeeze pages are exclusively used as lead generation landing pages
  • Medium-length landing pages are used both as lead generation landing pages and as sales pages
  • Long-form landing pages are typically used as sales pages

Creating a squeeze page requires the least amount of resources which makes it the best way to test your free offer.

Once you have validated that your lead magnet resonates with your target audience you can experiment with creating a medium-length landing page for it.

#3. Use a Proven Landing Page Template

We don’t recommend designing a landing page from scratch if you have never done it before because it likely won’t produce optimal results.

You should probably go with a high-converting landing page template that has been proven to work for businesses like yours.

ClickFunnels includes a template library that features tried-and-tested squeeze page templates.

#4. Create a Headline That Conveys the Value of Your Free Offer

The headline is the most important element of your landing page. Why?

Because it determines whether or not the potential customer will read anything else on it.

It’s important to understand that the potential customer will likely be reading the headline while extremely distracted.

Think: Chatting with a friend on Skype, 20 tabs open on their browser, with a podcast playing in the background.

This means that once they arrive on your landing page, you only have a few seconds to grab their attention – that’s the whole purpose of the headline.

That’s why you need to make sure that it conveys the value of your free offer.

“A confused mind always says no” is a sales principle that’s worth remembering here.

If the potential customer reads your headline and is confused as to what your free offer is all about, they will probably leave and never come back again.

Here’s a simple yet effective squeeze page that we are using for our “The Funnel Hacker’s Cookbook” lead magnet.

See how the headline immediately makes it clear what’s included in this free offer?

#5. Emphasize the Benefits of Your Free Offer

The distinction between features and benefits is one of the most important principles in copywriting:

  • A feature is a function or a quality of a product (e.g. “These shoes are waterproof!”)
  • A benefit is a value that the customer will get out of that product (e.g. “These shoes will keep your feet dry!”)

People buy based on benefits which is why you should always emphasize them in your copy.

You should view your lead magnet as a product that you are selling – except instead of asking for money, you are asking for the potential customer’s email address.

Even then there’s very little copy, like in our “The Funnel Hacker’s Cookbook” squeeze page, you still want to mention the main benefit of your free offer.

(In this case, we do it with the “Free Sales Funnel Recipes That Will Help You Grow YOUR Business…” subheadline)

#6. Have a Clear Call to Action That Tells the Potential Customer What to Do Next

Every landing page needs at least one call-to-action button.

It should:

  1. Be large because the human eye is drawn to large page elements first
  2. Be of a color that contrasts with the overall scheme of your landing page
  3. Have descriptive instead of generic copy (e.g. ”Get Your FREE Ebook Now!” instead of “Download”)

If you decide to go with a medium-length landing page, you might want to include one call-to-action button per screen.

That way, if the potential customer decides to get your lead magnet, they won’t have to scroll to find the call-to-action button.

This may not sound like a big deal but it can increase the conversion rate of your landing page.

#7. Add Social Proof to Your Landing Page

Social proof is a psychological principle that says that whenever people are unsure of what to do, they look at what others do in order to determine the best course of action.

In the business context, this means that whenever potential customers are unsure of what to do, they seek out information regarding what other people think about you, your company, and your product.

Lead magnets are free, so potential customers won’t be as hesitant as they would be when making a purchase decision, but providing social proof can still help you increase the conversion rate of your landing page.

This can mean:

  • Displaying “As Seen On” media badges
  • Featuring an endorsement from a well-known person in your niche
  • Featuring a testimonial from someone who has previously downloaded your lead magnet

In case you don’t have any social proof, we recommend making an effort to obtain it – it can be extremely powerful.

#8. Add Relevant Images to Your Landing Page

We recommend adding a visual representation of your lead magnet to its landing page as that tends to increase the conversion rate.

Besides that, you want to either add a photo of yourself in which you look relatable, authoritative, and trustworthy if you have a personal brand

Or a photo that reminds the potential customer of how their life could look like if they solved the problem that your lead magnet addresses.

Say, if your lead magnet is related to travel, then you can either use your own travel photo or a photo of a popular tourist location that appeals to your target audience.

#9. Test Your Free Offer by Driving Traffic to Your Landing Page

Okay, so you have your lead magnet landing page, now what?

We recommend driving traffic to it with paid ads – paid traffic is measurable, predictable, and scalable.

All major social media platforms allow you to run ads on them:

  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn
  • YouTube
  • TikTok

Choose the platform that is favored by your target audience, set up a small daily ad budget, and start running ads.

Your first aim should be to determine whether your free offer resonates with your target audience.

If it does, then you should continue tweaking your ad campaign until you figure out how to run it profitably, at which point you can start gradually scaling it.

If it doesn’t, then you should go back to the drawing board, come up with a more appealing free offer, create a landing page for it, and drive traffic to it.

Continue this process until you find a lead magnet idea that works.

#10. Use A/B Testing to Optimize Your Landing Page for Conversions

Once you are sure that your free offer resonates with your target audience, it’s time to start optimizing your lead magnet landing page for conversions.

The best way to do that is A/B testing (also known as split testing):

  1. Create two variants of your landing page: variant A and variant B. There should be only ONE difference between them (e.g. the headline). That’s the element that you are testing
  2. Split your traffic in half. Send 50% of it to variant A and the other 50% to variant B
  3. See which variant converts better and continue using it

Over time, this conversion rate optimization process can help you 2x, 5x, or even 10x your profits.
